What today’s human world is extremely in need of is the interaction and communication of religions for reducing the empty gaps between them and softening the hearts of their followers and unifying their movement towards prosperity. It is so that the Holy Quran tells the Prophet (s.a.w) that: “We did not send you except as a bearer of good news and warner to all mankind” (Surah 34, Sab’a); it is because being universal and being for everyone from any race, place or faith are the unique features of the holy religion of Islam. Insulting the saints of any divine religions by followers of another religion will bring the relationships of religions to a dead-end; whereas respecting and reverencing them will set a good background for tightening relations and sympathetic of religions or understanding the path of Truth and it has positive and productive effects. Knowing the rules of the divine religions for insulting saints of others will reduce the amount of confronting and arguing among different religions and it will stop them from doing so. This article, by studying the basis and reasons of the Imami jurisprudence, shows that insulting other divine religions’ saints beside Islam is also forbidden and is one of the major sins and the relations between Muslims and non-Muslims has to be based on respect, kindness, religious tolerance, freedom of thought and speech, understanding audience, understanding the language and the holy scriptures of other religions and peaceful coexistence.
