"Ehdad" or "Hedad" means the abandonment of self-decoration by women during the period of Idah. According to religious teachings, after the death of her husband or divorce, women must spend a period of time as "Idah" and then they will be allowed to remarry. According to this, Ahdad is considered as one of the functions of Adeh. There is a consensus regarding the obligation of Ihadad in the number of deaths; However, there is a difference of opinion among divorcees regarding Ehadad. The current research, based on the descriptive-analytical method, examines the differences between religions regarding the obligation of women to marry. It is clear by inference of jurisprudential opinions that the majority of jurists do not consider ahadad necessary during the period of divorce, while the Hanafi jurists have considered it necessary during the period of formal divorce (minor, major, divorce, and dissolution of marriage), which is the opinion of the president. According to the appearances of the texts and intentions of Shariat, it seems preferable. The presidents of Islamic schools of thought have considered Ihdad obligatory for all women; But the Hanafis do not consider Ihdad necessary for women who are literate, madunah and minor. Considering the similarity of the rules of marriage for the obligees, the promise to oblige all women (Muslims and people of the book) is more compatible with the purposes of the law.
